As many of you are aware on Tuesday, Gov. Greg Abbott issued executive Order GA-34, will lift all COVID-19-related restrictions on businesses and the statewide mask mandate effective Wednesday, March 10.
Alliance Pediatrics will continue to follow the CDC’s guidance. Therefore, all patients, visitors, and staff will still be required to wear a mask while in our facilities. The safety and well-being of our patients, visitors, and staff remains our top priority.
While we are thankful to see the recent decline in COVID-19 case counts and hospitalizations, as well as the increasing number of people immunized in our community, we feel it is too early to change our current policies. Especially, given that 95% of our patient population cannot currently be immunized. Pfizer’s vaccine is approved and can currently be given to people 16 and older. The Moderna vaccine is approved for people 18 and older. While they have begun clinical trials for both vaccines for kids age 12 and up, we do not have any information on when the FDA might approve the vaccine for administration in our younger population. We cannot let up on the very practices that have helped us to get to this stage. With the new COVID-19 variants quickly spreading across our communities, it is important we all continue to:
- Practice Good Hand Hygiene
- Wear a mask (everyone over 2 years of age) including those who have been vaccinated
- Maintain Social Distancing of 6 ft
- Stay home when you are ill or have had a known exposure. If you need to come to the doctor please make certain you make them aware, of patients and anyone that might bring patient in, symptoms.
Let’s each do our part to protect each other and to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
