Cryotherapy for wart removal in kids
At Alliance Pediatrics® of Fort Worth we provide safe and effective cryotherapy treatment for the removal of warts in children. Warts, caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), are common in kids and can appear on the hands, feet, or other areas of the body. Our cryotherapy service offers a quick and efficient way to remove warts and help your child feel more comfortable.
What is cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is a procedure that involves freezing the wart using liquid nitrogen. The extreme cold destroys the wart tissue, allowing healthy skin to grow in its place. This medical is highly effective for most warts and is a safe option for children when performed by trained medical professionals.
Consultation before treatment
Before we proceed with cryotherapy, your child will have a consultation with one of our pediatricians. During this consultation, the doctor will examine the wart and determine if cryotherapy is the appropriate treatment. Some warts may respond better to other treatments, and our team will ensure that the right method is chosen for your child’s specific needs.
In-office treatment
Most warts can be treated in our office with cryotherapy. The procedure is quick, and while your child may feel a brief stinging sensation, it is generally well-tolerated. Depending on the size and type of wart, multiple treatments may be needed for full removal. Our caring staff will make sure your child is comfortable throughout the process.
At Alliance Pediatrics® of Fort Worth, we are here to help your child with safe and effective wart removal. If your child has a wart that may require treatment or you would like to learn more about cryotherapy, please contact us to schedule a consultation.
